Abstract

The relationship between the NDVI index and evapotranspiration (ET), widely used in
assessing vegetation cover based on remote sensing data, is considered an effective indicator for
evaluating plant physiology, chlorophyll content, biomass, and stress levels, while ET reflects water
consumption by the soil and plants. As part of this study, using the Google Earth Engine (GEE)
platform, the spatiotemporal dynamics of NDVI and ET indicators in the Kashkadarya Region from
2016 to 2025 were analyzed.. Based on the results obtained, the correlation between these indicators
was assessed, and their specific characteristics under arid climate conditions were identified. The
study’s findings provide a scientific basis for improving water resource management and enhancing
agricultural efficiency in the region.
